This is a tech demo for an upcoming as yet unnamed Space Shooter. You can watch two demonstrations or run a benchmark to determine the game's performance on your pc.
The main reason for creating this demo is to find an artist for the project. Mainly for UI/Menu stuff, but also potentially for in-game assets like ships and backgrounds. If you are an artist and would be interested in working on this, please get in touch by PM or email: crunchyleafgames -at- gmail -dot- com
You can run the demonstrations by clicking either one in the main menu.
The fighter one uses a locked camera that follows the lone ship, but you can still influence the view by moving the mouse towards the sides of the screen.
The battle demo uses a free-scrolling camera, you can pan the view in any direction by moving the mouse towards the sides of the screen. Moving the mouse further away will pan faster.
Run the benchmark by clicking it in the main menu. To get the most representative results, perform a hard reload on the page (Firefox: Ctrl-F5) before running it to clear the cache. The camera is fully locked and non-interactive to ensure comparable results.
To see your results after running the benchmark, move the mouse cursor over the "Run Benchmark" menu item. Your score will be displayed to the right, in points out of 100.
Please be aware that the benchmark is specifically designed to be taxing. You shouldn't be able to reach a 90+ score without a high-end system.
The art is almost entirely from the AI War 2.0 Graphics Library by: Chris Park / Daniel Cook / Philippe Chabot / Hans Martin Portmann
Some background art is by Sebastian Adomat
Everything else by Max Dohme
